To achieve this, signageOS is transitioning away from the traditional flat-rate model based on the number of connected devices to a hybrid model that includes consideration for a major factor in digital signage software - usage. What does this look like and how will it be implemented in the signageOS unification technology and services? signageOS's previous pricing structure offered a flat price per device, per month, depending on the total number of connected devices. signageOS will transition to a hybrid usage-based pricing structure that allows for greater administrative flexibility and individualized management functionality. This model consists of a two-part plan structure.

Company Plan + Device Plan   

Part 1) Company Plan

The Company Plan represents the level of organizational and support features that your digital signage business requires throughout the year. This includes features and functionality such as the number of signageOS accounts, SLA and support levels, priority application building, long-term custom hardware onboarding, analytics retention, and much more!

Companies will select the Company Plan according to their company needs at the beginning of the official cooperation with signageOS. This ensures that throughout the development, onboarding, and deployment processes your digital signage company will receive assistance from signageOS where it is needed the most.

Company plans consist of: Open, Starter, Business, and Enterprise

Company plans are designed to fit teams of all levels and sizes. For example, CMS partners with large development teams might fit best in the Business or Enterprise plan. Whereas, companies with 5 developers or less will fit perfectly with the Starter plan. Additionally, Company plans cater to the support needs of development teams. If your development team would like signageOS to be hands on throughout many processes like onboarding, testing, or even technical, development review sessions then the Business or Enterprise plans might be the best route for your company. Part 2) Device Plan 

The Device plan is selected based on the needs of each individual customer or digital signage network. Your company can utilize a different Device plan for each customer or digital signage network. This allows you to select the device plan with the remote management features that are suitable for each of your end-customers and their corresponding digital signage network.

As a result of doing this, companies can potentially save large amounts on networks that require little or no management features and pocket those savings or distribute them to management features for the more demanding end-customer networks. Why pay equal amounts for networks that are unequal in their demands, right?

The Device plan is selected prior to the deployment of the individual network into production (i.e. devices going live for customers). Device plan prices are per device, per month and coincide directly with the level of remote management features. Device plans can also be upgraded or downgraded at any time to provide a flexible management solution to your end-customers. 

Device plans consist of: Open, 1.0, 2.0, & 3.0 

Similarly to the structure of Company plans, Device plans are designed to cater to the needs of each of your customers and their digital signage networks. For example, if the network requires demanding functionality like retrieving screenshots every few minutes then Device plan 3.0 is for you. Contrarily, if the digital signage network only requires functionality like connection status monitoring, remote control of orientation, resolution, kiosk mode, etc., then Device plan 1.0 is perfect for the network. Use Case

Let’s take a look at how this pricing structure compares to the previous structure and where the benefits lie. For this example, let’s say Jane’s CMS Company has multiple customers that each have digital signage networks that perform drastically different tasks. Network A is a digital signage network for a large retailer that displays simple seasonal sales and fashion trends. Network B is a digital signage network for a QSR (quick service restaurant) that changes performance-heavy content constantly throughout the day.

Jane’s CMS company requires heavy development assistance and support ticketing for new feature development so they select the Enterprise Company Plan. For Network A, Jane’s CMS company can select Device Plan 1.0 to meet the end-customer requirements. For Network B, Jane’s CMS company selects Device Plan 3.0 for the complete management and monitoring functionality. Jane’s CMS company then saves money per device on Network A and can translate those savings into functionality for Network B. This creates a custom pricing plan that fits the needs of all parties involved.
